Mission:
It is the mission of the McKinley KEY School, in partnership with the parents and community to: 
   1. Provide an educational experience which will encourage individuals according to their specific intelligence, to become lifelong learners and productive members of society; and   
   2. Develop a school climate which will enhance each child's social/emotional growth and positive self concept.

MAGNET SCHOOL:

McKinley Key Elementary School is a “magnet” school, is open to all children in Wyandotte (by application). 

Unique differences about McKinley Key Elementary:

--classroom loops (students stay in the same classroom with the same teacher for 2 years)

--slightly longer calendar (1 week later than the rest of the district)

--more breaks during the school year

--no letter grading of students

McKinley is an award-winning school, in process and results.  However, the curriculum is the same as every other elementary school in Wyandotte.  If you are interested in visiting the school, call the office at (734) 759-5701 to arrange an appointment.
